The National Museum of African American History and Culture Now Open For Student Tours and Educational Tours

September 29, 2016

A “must see” for your Washington D.C. student tour group is a visit to the Smithsonian Museums’ latest addition, the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Within its five floors and 85,000 square feet are 3,000 drawings, photographs, spoken word and video that tell the African-American story of the past 600 years.  Your Washington D.C. educational tour group will view significant artifacts such as, a shawl worn by Harriet Tubman, a slave cabin, a segregated rail car, a guard tower and the casket that carried 14 year-old Emmett Til.  The museum’s top floors contain exhibitions dedicated to culture, community and sports, where your field trip can also include dancing to Tina Turner videos and Donna Summer disco hits.

Student Tours, Educational Tours, or Group Tours, Colonial Capital Tours(www.colonialcapitaltours.com) has the right program for you and the very best attractions!
